In 2023, the Circle C Cattlewomen turned 50. This BEEF focused group was organized by lovely Patsy Jamison Miller.
Patsy was familiar with the Cowbelles organization and was active on the state level in South Dakota during her time ranching there alongside her husband Bub and their sons, John and Tom. From the 1940's to the early 1970's, they dedicated their lives to their family, their ranching business, and their rural community. After several years of life in South Dakota, it was time for the couple to return home to Coleman, TX and continue their ranching business and eventually take the reins from his parents. Confident in Bub and Patsy's business sense and ranching abilities, they retired from ranching duties.
In 1972, a group of like minded women began to meet as the Circle C Cowbelles under the direction of Patsy. By 1973, the new club was chartered and members were filled with excitement as they prepared for the future. They quickly became a group of 72 members in just 6 short months. Some years later, the name was changed to Cattlewomen,
The Circle C Cattlewomen have made a strong positive impression by promoting beef and the beef industry, by connecting with the community, providing BEEF education to young and old alike, and supporting the local youth BEEF showman through premiums.
As a member of Circle C Cattlewomen, you will have access to exclusive events, special merchandise, and opportunities to volunteer and make a positive impact in your community while supporting agriculture and promoting beef.
The history of Coleman County, Texas is deeply rooted from the days of the cattle drives. Some of the early pioneers saw their dreams fulfilled as they worked together to build a community. Since 1858, Coleman County has been raising great beef thanks to the dedication of these strong pioneers. Many of their descendants still occupy the land and community and have made Coleman County their home for several generations.
Ranchers, small and large, can see the wonderful potential of the surrounding area with it's strong, west Texas vegetation and beautiful lakes and reservoirs.
Lots of changes have occurred since the early days, but good stewardship and raising great cattle has never wavered.
